Mumbai Suburbs:
Living next to your workplace in down town Mumbai may be privilege. But staying in the
suburbs is a luxury. You are away from the madding crowd and the rate race and, at the
same time, you are in a place that is ticking, always alive, forever vibrant.
The ordeal of getting up early in the morning and driving down to the city is still worth
the extra effort and time. It's like a daily great escape that helps keep your sanity. Of
course, these days the suburbs are bursting at its seams as high-rise buildings are
springing up and the skyline is swiftly changing. What were once peaceful pockets of
greenery is being transformed into concrete monuments, not only residential but also
commercial properties.
The suburb beckon with their own charms, making you feels very much at home. In the old
days, living in the suburbs was easy but you had to travel to town, not just for work, but
also to shop, take in some entertainment, dine in style. Today, all that has changed. The
focus has shifted to the suburbs that are self-sufficient. It is easy getting around
because the transport system has developed tremendously with many more routes. Markets
just round the corner, there are an amazing amount of shopping malls, catering to everyone
selling just about everything, schools and colleges are spread all over providing the best
education, you have parks, clubs, gymkhanas, hotels from budget hotels to the fancy
five-star ones, even resorts.
Activities keep the suburbs action - packed with sports tournaments, Tele games, music and
other cultural shows, and more. Swanky movie theatres have sprung up, all showing the
latest blockbusters. The suburbs also boast of the finest restaurants and eateries in
town. And, after dark, the suburbs sizzle with the buzz in the many bars, pubs and
discotheques. As they say, it's all happening in the suburbs.
