Places to See: Kathmandu Valley:
The Kathmandu Valley - a repository of
medieval art culture is surrounded by tier upon tier of green mountain walls above which
tower mighty snowcapped peaks. It consists of three main cities of great historic and
culture interest Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur. The major tourist attraction
places in Kathmandu Valley are; Temples, Historic monuments, Stupas, Museums and so on.

Vicinity of Kathmandu Valley:
There are many beautiful and interesting places to visit in the vicinity of Kathmandu
Valley like Kakani, Gosaikunda, Dhulikhel, Panauti, Namo Buddha, Timal Narayan, Palanchok
Bhagwati, Charikot, Nuwakot, Helambu and Daman etc.

Pokhara Valley:
The Pokhara Valley is one of the most picturesque spots of Nepal. Situated 200 kilometers
west of Kathmandu, Pokhara is connected by air as well as land with other cities. Its
lovely Lakes Phewa, Begnas and Rupa enhance the beauty of the valley. Visitors can see
from Pokhara the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, fine peaks of
Annapurna and others.

Gorkha:
Gorkha is the birth place of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the great founder of modern Nepal
and is also the ancestral home of the Shah Kings of Nepal. Gorkha can be reached in about
five hours from Kathmandu and four hours from Pokhara by bus.
Lumbini:
Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace. It is situated 250
kilometers south-west of Kathmandu. Ashokan pillar, remants of an old monastery, images of
Buddha's mother Mayadevi etc. are still preserved in Lumbini.

Royal
Chitwan National Park:
Royal Chitwan National Park is situated 120 kilometers south-west of Kathmandu in Chitwan
district. The rare great one homed rhinoceros, several species of deer, beer, leopard,
dolphin, crocodile, birds, tiger etc inhabit in this park in their natural habitat.

Janakpur:
Janakpur is a great religious place, famous as the birthplace of Sita, the consort of Lord
Rama, there is an artistic marble temple of Sita (Janaki), popularly known as Naulakh
Mandir. Religious festivals, pilgrimages, trade fairs and other festivals are held during
Vivaha Panchami and Ram Navami.
Barahachhetra:
Barah is the temple of Lord Baraha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Barahachhetra is
the holy place of Hindu pilgrimages and lies on the bank of Koshi river.

Adventures:
Treeking: Nepal is a trekkers' paradise. One can trek along the beaten
trails of virgin tracks. Some of the recommended treks are; Everest trek, Annapurna
around, Kanchanjunga, Helambu, Gosaikunda, Langtang, Jumla-Rara, Mustang, Dolpa, Manaslu,
Khaptad and Ramaroshan.

Rafting: There are numerous rivers in Nepal, which offer
excellent rafting or canoeing adventures. Some of the rivers opened for rivers runner are;
Arun, Bheri, Karnali, Kaligandaki, Seti, Tamakoshi, Trisuli and Sunkoshi.
