The body of a Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinet is designed for greater strength and
rigidity. Only prime quality steel from SAIL(Steel Authority Of India Ltd) is used.The
cabinet has separate inner and outer shells reinforced in vital places to form a rigid
integral body.So, if a floor collapses due to fire, the cabinet can withstand the fall and
the avalanche of debris on it.

a)Fire Resisting Compound:
The unique Godrej fire resisting compound has a cellular structure.It is solid and stable
and does not deteriorate with age.In fact, the fire resisting compound can withstand
temperature exceeding 1000(degree)C and provides as much resistance to flames and hot
gases as a 610mm thick concrete wall. So, a fire devasting enough to reduce a whole
building to ashes is not likely to affect the documents protected by a Godrej Fire
Resisting Filing Cabinet.
b)Tongue-and-Groove Construction:
The sketch below shows the special construction employed to prevent the passage of flames
and hot gases to the interior of the drawer. Additionally,the perfect fit between the two
profiles eliminates the use of asbestos-a unique first among all fire resisting cabinets
in the country.
c)All-Round Protection For Each Drawer:
Each drawer of the Fire Resisting Cabinet has an independent five-sided enclosure heavily
insulated with the unique Godrej fire resisting compound. This makes each drawer a
separate fully insulated compartment which will protect its content even if one or more of
the other drawer are inadvertently left open.
INDEPENDENTLY TESTED FOR PERFORMANCE
The Godrej Fire Resisting Cabinets have successfully withstood the 2-hour fire-impact test
at the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI).The 2- hour fire impact test involved
heating the cabinet in a specially designed furnace to over 1000 C, dropping it from a
height of 4 meters and subsequently heating it again in an inverted position to 1010 C
.Even after the entire duration of the test,the paper records inside the drawers were
found to be usable, demonstrating its superior fire and impact resisting capabilities.

extension telescopic slides each having eight heavy duty steel bearings.These slides
