How to get
there:
Dharamsala can be approached by air from Delhi. The nearest airport is at Gaggla, just 13
Km /8 mile away. Pathankot, the nearest railway station is 85 Km/ 52 mile
away. Taxis for Dharamsala are available at both places; from Pathankot the drive takes
about three hours. Or you can drive from Delhi (526 Km/ 326 mile) via
Chandigarh, Kiratpur and Bilaspur - this should take around 8 hours. From Delhi and
Shimla, Luxury buses ply to Dharamsala.
By Road: Regular Bus and Taxi service available from Delhi and
Chandigarh. Chandigarh is 252km/156 mile from Dharamsala.
By Train: The convenient railhead is Pathankot at a distance of 90km/56
mile whereas Kangra Railway station on Narrow gauge railway line is
only 17km/10 mile from Dharamsala.
